My company is throwing a conference this week, Big Boulder, the world’s first conference on social data. It has been so much fun to see what goes into planning such a huge event.
My marketing team is small - three people + a data scientist - so pulling off an event that has some pretty incredible speakers from companies such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Klout is no small feat. My co-workers Bre and Randy are the muscle behind the event, but it has been so much fun to be behind the scenes.
I’ve only been at Gnip a short amount of time but one of the things that amazes me is how much you can accomplish when you focus on the big, important stuff. Gnip is focused on thought leadership and this blog post from our COO Chris pretty much sums up our strategy. In fact, I liked it so much that when I was at another company I sent it around to the rest of the marketing department at my last job. It definitely had a lot to do with why I wanted to work at Gnip. With this focus on thought leadership, it makes it easier to focus and prioritize. I wish it was something I learned at previous jobs.
Looking forward to a hectic, crazy week! and getting to meet so many of our clients.
